How it works
From a script to a video you can post
Six steps, each one a normal screen in the studio. Do them yourself, or hand any of them to your agent.
- 1
Write the script
Paste or write the text you want read. Mapflyover keeps this wording exactly, so the captions on screen match what you wrote, including punctuation.
- ›Up to 20,000 characters
- ›Used for narration and caption text
- ›Edit any time; re-time the captions afterwards
- 2
Create the narration
Generate speech with Google Gemini using your own key, choosing a voice and a speaking style. Or upload a recording or soundtrack you already have.
- ›Your key, your cost, no markup
- ›Several voices and styles
- ›Upload MP3 or WAV instead if you prefer
- 3
Time the captions
Groq Whisper listens to the audio with word-level timestamps. Your script is aligned to what was heard, so every word gets a time and the spoken one can be highlighted on screen.
- ›Your own Groq key, with a free tier
- ›Words the audio skipped are still placed sensibly
- ›Fine-tune any caption time by hand
- 4
Build the scenes
One scene per place, each lasting as long as that part of the narration. Mapflyover finds the real outline, frames the camera, and adds stat cards and a place chip. Do it in the editor, paste JSON, or let an agent save the scenes.
- ›Switch outline, draw a circle or import GeoJSON
- ›Per-scene pitch, bearing, speed and zoom
- ›Checks warn about gaps, overlaps and missing outlines
- 5
Style the captions
Choose a caption look and adjust it with a live preview: font, size, colors, outline, background plate, position and how words appear.
- ›Seven presets as a starting point
- ›The export uses the same drawing code as the preview
- ›Separate sizes suit vertical and landscape
- 6
Export and share
Render an MP4 in your browser. Every frame waits for its map tiles. You can look around the editor while it runs. Then download it, or add it to Buffer for a queue slot or a set time.
- ›720p, 1080p or 4K, depending on your plan
- ›Saved to your video library
- ›Share to several Buffer channels at once
FAQ
Before you start
How long does an export take?
It depends on the length, the resolution and your device, since everything is drawn frame by frame in the browser. A one minute video at 1080p usually takes a few minutes. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
Can I start with only a script?
Yes. You can build the scenes and preview them with no audio, then add narration and captions later.
What if I already have a voice recording?
Upload it, paste the script, and create timed captions from it. No Gemini key is needed for that.
What happens if the wrong place is drawn?
Pick another match, draw a circle, or import your own outline. The scene is re-framed automatically.
Where will you take us?
Build the whole film for free. Export when you are ready.
