1. Local-First Processing
Unlike traditional video creators that upload your assets to a cloud server, MapFlyover uses WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm) to render your videos locally on your own machine. Your source frames and map data never leave your browser unless you explicitly choose to save a project to our archive.
2. Data Collection & Plan Metrics
We collect essential account information (email, display name) and JSON configurations for your projects. To manage subscription tiers, we track high-level usage metrics including your total export count and AI generation usage. We do not track your precise location or sell your production data to third parties.
3. Map Provider Usage
Our map engine fetches data from satellite providers. Usage is subject to their respective privacy terms. When you provide your own Mapbox token, you retain full control over that data layer and its associated privacy settings within your Mapbox account.
4. Studio Security
We use Firebase Authentication and secure Firestore rules to ensure that only you can access your production studio. Your video exports are stored in private, authenticated cloud buckets unless you generate a public sharing link.
